When Jingle the Husky Pup arrived on my doorstep I kind of didn’t want to get him out of his box and share him with the children. He was so soft and adorable.
Jingle the Husky Pup is a gorgeous plush dog accompanying a book “Jingle All the Way” which can be purchased from Hallmark. The story follows Jingle, a good pup, as he looks for his school yard friends, as he has no home.
The story is simple, heart warming and lovely, presented in a gorgeous book with beautiful pictures to accompany it.
Luckily, I changed my mind (as if I wouldn’t) about sharing the puppy and now we read Jingle’s story every night.
The best part about Jingle and his story is the sentences in red. When you read these sentences, the voice activated pup responds to the prompt by barking, howling or even singing, giving the story an extra dimension.
I didn’t tell the girls what would happen while reading the story and I absolutely loved their delighted looks and laughs of excitement. The extra element of Jingle’s interaction brings this beautiful story to life.
With each sound Jingle makes, both Ellie and Kahlei react accordingly – if Jingle is sad, they hold him tight. When he’s happy about being a good dog they give him a pat. It’s been interesting to watch their reactions.
To compliment Jingle the Husky Pup, you can also download the Jingle All the Way App for your iPad or iPhone. The App contains the story, so littlies can have it read to them and Jingle even when you might be busy, as well as puzzles and games such as Tree Decorating.
Jingle the Husky Pup is the first character in the new Interactive Storybook & Story Buddy line which brings this voice-recognition technology to story telling. I look forward to the other characters being released.
I honestly think Jingle the Husky Pup is completely endearing and a wonderful gift idea and I love the idea of building a special interactive library with all the other characters.
